What exactly is Synkr and who is it for?

Synkr is a synchronization tool built specifically for Dutch freelancers and self-employed professionals. If you track your hours in a system like Toggl or Google Sheets, but those hours also need to end up in your accounting software (Moneybird, Simplicate, e-Boekhouden), you're probably retyping everything manually. That costs you time every week and leads to mistakes. Synkr automates that retyping: you pull your hours from your source system, review them, and send them to your accounting software with one click. No more double work, no more forgotten hours, no more typos.

Which systems are supported?

Synkr currently supports the following source systems: Toggl, Google Sheets, Excel (upload), Excel Online, Notion, and CSV. Clockify is coming soon. Available destination systems are Moneybird, Simplicate, and e-Boekhouden. We're actively building new integrations. Missing a system? How is Synkr different from Zapier or Make?

Zapier and Make are generic automation tools where you build your own flows, manage your own tokens, and data flows through unseen. That works fine for simple triggers, but for time entry synchronization you want more control. Synkr is purpose-built for syncing hours: you always see exactly what's going to be sent and approve it yourself before anything happens. On top of that, your connections are maintained for you, with no technical knowledge required. And Synkr works with Dutch systems like e-Boekhouden and Simplicate that aren't always available on generic platforms. Finally, Zapier charges per task, which quickly becomes more expensive than Synkr when you sync regularly.

How does syncing work exactly?

Synkr works in four steps. First, you connect your source system (where your hours live) and your destination system (where they need to go) once. Then you pull your latest hours with one click. You immediately see an overview of everything that was imported, including project, client, and hours. Next, you review everything yourself: right project? Right hours? You can adjust or skip entries as needed. Only when you click 'Push' are the hours sent to your accounting software. Nothing ever happens automatically in the background. You have full control over when and what gets synchronized.

How quickly can I get started?

Most users are done setting up their first connection within 10 minutes. You create a free account, connect your source and destination system, and can run your first sync right away. Synkr guides you through the process step by step. No technical knowledge needed. If you can create an account with Moneybird or Toggl, you can set up Synkr.

Will my existing time entries be overwritten?

No, absolutely not. Synkr only adds new entries to your destination system. Existing data is never modified or deleted. Before anything is sent, you see exactly which hours will be pushed and to which system. You approve every sync yourself. If something doesn't look right, you can adjust or skip it. Your existing records always remain untouched.

Yes, security is a core priority. Here's how we back up each claim. Encrypted storage Your credentials for connected systems are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, an encryption standard also used by banks. GCM (Galois/Counter Mode) provides not just encryption, but also tamper detection: if the encrypted data is altered in any way, decryption automatically fails. Each value receives a unique initialization vector (IV), so identical credentials never produce the same encrypted output. Data in the EU Our database runs on Neon PostgreSQL in Frankfurt (aws-eu-central-1) and our application runs on Vercel, also in Frankfurt (fra1). All your data (your account, connections, encrypted credentials, and time entries) stays in the EU. No data is processed or stored outside of Europe. Secure connections For OAuth connections (like Moneybird or Google Sheets), you never share your password with Synkr. Instead, you're redirected to the provider itself, where you grant Synkr permission. Synkr then receives a token with limited scope, only what's needed to pull or push time entries. You can revoke this token at any time through the provider's settings, which immediately cuts off Synkr's access. Full control When you delete your account, everything is wiped immediately and permanently: your profile, connections, encrypted credentials, OAuth tokens, and time entry data. This is a direct cascade deletion in the database, not a background job. There is no retention period and no hidden clauses. Minimal data Synkr only processes time entry data: project names, clients, hours, and amounts. No bank details, no tax IDs, no full invoices. For comparison: your accounting software knows your rates, clients, bank account, and tax ID. Synkr sees far less than what you already share with Moneybird or e-Boekhouden.

What does Synkr cost?

Synkr has a free plan so you can get started right away: create unlimited connections and run 4 syncs per month. That's enough to try Synkr and experience how much time it saves you. For unlimited syncing, there's the Pro plan at €19 per month, or €190 per year (two months free). To put it in perspective: at a rate of €75 per hour, Synkr saves you about 30 minutes per week of admin work. That means Synkr pays for itself within one week. What if I want to cancel?

You can cancel at any time, with no notice period or hidden fees. After cancellation, your connections are deactivated but not deleted. If you come back later, they work again immediately without having to set everything up again. Want to fully delete your account? Then everything is permanently wiped: your credentials, tokens, time entry data, and connections. There's no retention period and no hidden clauses.

I'm missing an integration. Can I request one?

Yes, you can! Use the 'Request a system' button on this page to let us know which system you're missing and whether it's a source or destination system. We're actively building new connectors and use these requests to decide which integrations get priority. You can optionally leave your email address, and we'll let you know as soon as the integration is available.
